Vanquish

Victoria, a young mother, is trying to leave behind her past as a drug courier for a Russian organization and raise her daughter. Her attempt at a quiet life ends when Damon, a retired police commissioner, takes the girl hostage. He forces Victoria to work for him, sending her after violent criminals while her daughter's safety hangs on her compliance. Victoria's only way out is to fight her way through the people Damon points her toward.

George Gallo directed and co-wrote the film with Samuel Bartlett, and it sits between The Comeback Trail and The Ritual Killer in Gallo's filmography. Ruby Rose plays Victoria, with Morgan Freeman as Damon, alongside Patrick Muldoon, Julie Lott, Ekaterina Baker and Nick Vallelonga among a credited cast of twenty. The film is an American production from Capstone Group, Capstone Pictures, Capstone Global and March On Productions.

Released in April 2021, the film runs 96 minutes and mixes action, adventure, crime and thriller elements. Its reception was poor: on IMDb it holds 3 out of 10 from about 5,700 votes, and on TMDB 5.2 out of 10 from roughly 300 votes. A critics' rating of 3.2 out of 10 from 63 reviews places professional opinion below the audience score on TMDB, while the much larger IMDb sample is harsher still.
