Gigli

Larry Gigli is a small-time Los Angeles criminal who is given a chance to prove himself when his boss orders him to abduct Brian, the mentally disabled younger brother of a federal prosecutor. The plan is to hold Brian until the prosecutor drops a case against a mob figure. Because Gigli's bosses doubt he can handle the job alone, they send Ricki, a tough and confident woman, to supervise the operation. Confined together in Gigli's apartment with their captive, the two gradually develop feelings that complicate both the kidnapping and their orders.

Martin Brest directed and wrote the film, and produced it with Casey Silver. It follows Brest's earlier work as a director: Beverly Hills Cop (1984), Midnight Run (1988), Scent of a Woman (1992) and Meet Joe Black (1998). Ben Affleck plays Gigli and Jennifer Lopez plays Ricki, with Justin Bartha as Brian, Lainie Kazan as Mother, Missy Crider as Robin and Al Pacino as Starkman. The credited cast numbers 25, with 126 crew members.

Released in August 2003 and running 122 minutes, the film was a large-scale production with a budget of 76 million USD, yet it returned only about 7 million USD worldwide.
