This documentary explores a hypothetical condition of stillness within Colombia, a nation that paradoxically lacks such tranquility. In 2018, a collective of filmmakers known as Los Quietos attempted to create a film essay on this subject. They sought guidance on the geography, history, and character of the country from figures including writer Juan Gabriel Vásquez, presidential candidate Gustavo Petro, and documentary filmmaker Luis Ospina. Although the original project was left unfinished for unknown reasons, the film examines these efforts to understand the Colombian identity.
Directed by León Siminiani, this project follows his 2010 film El Premio. The screenplay was written by Siminiani along with Miguel A. Trudu and Jorge Caballero Ramos, who also served as the producer. The cast features Luis Ospina, Juan Gabriel Vázquez, and Gustavo Petro appearing as themselves, alongside Lina González, Ovidio Lozano Montaña, and Pierre Herón. A joint production between Spain and Colombia involving RARA Colectivo Audiovisual, Gusano Films, El Gesto, and El Apartamento Films, the film has a runtime of 31 minutes. Since its release on April 17, 2021, it has earned a rating of 6.9/10 on IMDb based on 24 votes.
