Borat: VHS Cassette of Material Deemed "Sub-Acceptable" by Kazakhstan Ministry of Censorship and Circumcision

This short comedy consists of material that was left out of the Borat sequel released in 2020. Presented as a VHS cassette of footage rejected by a Kazakh censorship body, it centers on Sacha Baron Cohen's Borat Sagdiyev, the Kazakh journalist whose trips to the United States drive the humor. Maria Bakalova appears as his daughter Tutar, and several Americans who took part in the production play themselves.

Jason Woliner directed, having previously made the 2014 comedy Dinner with Friends with Brett Gelman and Friends and then the 2020 Borat sequel; this 24-minute film followed that sequel, the third of the three features listed for him in chronological order. The screenplay is credited to Sacha Baron Cohen, Anthony Hines and Peter Baynham, with Eric Notarnicola producing for Amazon Studios, Four by Two Films and Oak Springs Productions.

Released in May 2021 in the United States, the film is a companion piece of deleted-scenes material rather than a full feature, and its reception reflects that narrower scope. On IMDb it holds a 6.3 rating from about 1,100 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.8 from a much smaller pool of roughly 32 votes. The two figures sit close to each other, suggesting viewers who sought out the extra material generally found it consistent with the earlier film, though its modest vote counts indicate a far smaller audience than the sequel drew.
