Brynn Adams is a young woman living alone in her childhood home, estranged from the surrounding community and more at ease inside her own walls than among other people. Her solitude is shattered when aggressive extraterrestrials break into the house, and she is forced to defend herself against an invasion that also pushes her to reckon with the past she has been avoiding. Brian Duffield wrote and directed the film, which runs 93 minutes and was produced by 20th Century Studios and Star Thrower Entertainment on a budget of 23 million dollars. It followed his 2020 directorial debut Spontaneous in his filmography.
Kaitlyn Dever plays Brynn, with Elizabeth Kaluev as the younger Brynn, Zack Duhame as the Mailman, Lauren L. Murray as Brynn's Mother, and Geraldine Singer and Dane Rhodes as Mrs. Collins and Police Chief Collins. Duffield wrote the screenplay and produced alongside Tim White and Allan Mandelbaum.
On IMDb the film holds a 6.2 rating from roughly 79,000 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 6.7 from about 1,600 votes. A critics' rating of 7.2 from 123 reviews places it above both audience scores, suggesting reviewers responded to it more warmly than general viewers did.
