A Year-End Medley is a Korean romantic comedy set in Seoul over the New Year holidays, unfolding largely inside the Hotel Emross. The film follows a large group of guests and staff whose paths cross during the festive period, among them a hotel manager, a housekeeper who once dreamed of singing, a popular idol, and a young man and woman whose stories form the spine of the film. The various characters meet, reconnect, act on old promises, or let go of past feelings as the year turns.
The film is directed by Kwak Jae-yong, whose earlier features include My Sassy Girl, The Classic, Windstruck and Cyborg She, placing it as the fifth film in the chronological list of his directing credits. Yoo Seung-hee wrote the screenplay, Kang Ga-mi produced, and the large credited cast of 39 includes Lee Dong-wook, Won Jin-ah, Han Ji-min, Seo Kang-joon, Kang Ha-neul and Yoona. It was released in late December 2021 and runs 137 minutes.
Worldwide box office came to about 2 million USD, a modest return for a film with this many well-known performers. On TMDB it holds a 7.2 rating from 159 votes, indicating a small but generally positive audience response.
