Female Agents

Female Agents is a French war film set in 1944, as the Allies prepare for the Normandy landings. Louise Desfontaines, a member of the French Resistance, escapes to London after her husband is killed and joins a secret British intelligence unit. She and her brother Pierre are given the task of assembling a team of women for a mission to extract a British agent who has been wounded and captured by the Germans and who knows too much about the planned invasion. Louise recruits four women from very different backgrounds, and the operation grows more dangerous as it unfolds.

Jean-Paul Salomé directed and co-wrote the film with Laurent Vachaud, and Éric Névé produced it. It followed Arsène Lupin in Salomé's filmography. Sophie Marceau plays Louise, with Julie Depardieu, Marie Gillain and Déborah François as her recruits, Moritz Bleibtreu as the German officer Karl Heinrich, and Julien Boisselier as Pierre. Forty-seven cast members are credited.

Released in February 2008, the film runs 117 minutes and was produced in France by TF1 Films Production, TF1 International, La Chauve Souris and Restons Groupés Production. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.6 out of 10 from 279 votes, and on TMDB it has a film critics' rating of 5.9 out of 10 from nine reviews. The audience score on IMDb is somewhat higher than that critics' figure.
