Candy Land

Candy Land is a horror thriller about Remy, a devout young woman who is cast out from her religious community. With no resources or home, she enters the underground world of sex workers operating near truck stops. Guided by a matriarch and a mysterious local sheriff, Remy attempts to reconcile her struggling faith with the specific code of this new environment while searching for her purpose in life.

The film was written and directed by John Swab, who also served as a producer alongside Jeremy M. Rosen. This project is one of several films Swab directed in 2023, following his earlier works Body Brokers and Ida Red, and preceding Little Dixie, Long Gone Heroes, and King Ivory. The cast features Olivia Luccardi as Remy, Eden Brolin as Riley, and William Baldwin as Sheriff Rex, supported by Owen Campbell, Brad Carter, and Virginia Rand.

Audience reception is mixed, with a rating of 5.3 on IMDb from 4,800 votes and a 6.3 on TMDB based on 184 votes. These figures are lower than the 7.2 rating provided by film critics based on 20 reviews.
