American Pie Presents: Band Camp

Matt Stifler, younger brother of Steve, is caught pulling a prank at his high school graduation and is sent to spend the summer at Tall Oaks band camp as punishment. Sherman, a former classmate of Steve who now works as a school counselor, is behind the arrangement. Rather than reform, Matt sets up hidden cameras around the camp, intending to record the female campers and use the footage to make a film he can send to his brother. His plans shift when he befriends some of the band members and develops feelings for Elyse, a girl he knew from school. Jim's father, serving as the camp's manners and conflict officer, takes it upon himself to steer Matt toward better behavior.

The film is a comedy directed by Steve Rash, working from a screenplay by Brad Riddell and produced by Mike Elliott. It is the seventh title in the American Pie series and the first of the spin-off films released directly for home viewing, following Rash's Zenon: Z3 from the previous year. Tad Hilgenbrink leads the cast as Matt, with Arielle Kebbel as Elyse, Jason Earles, Crystle Lightning, Jun Hee Lee and Omar Benson Miller among the supporting players; 37 cast members and 89 crew members are credited. Made for 7 million dollars, it earned a 5 out of 10 on IMDb from about 79,000 votes and a 5.5 out of 10 on TMDB from roughly 2,285 votes, with a critics' score of 3.4 out of 10 from six reviews.
