Apausalypse is an Icelandic documentary that follows a group of filmmakers and their cinematographer, Andri Haraldsson. After the pandemic caused the cancellation of their previous project, the creators travel together to record and reflect on the unusual atmosphere of that period.
The film was directed by Andri Snær Magnason and Anní Ólafsdóttir. For Magnason, this production follows his 2009 film Dreamland. Magnason also served as a producer and co-writer alongside Ólafsdóttir, while Halldóra Þorláksdóttir and Hlín Jóhannesdóttir took on producing roles. The project was produced by the company Elsku Rut and has a total runtime of 52 minutes. Released on May 21, 2021, the film captures a specific moment of global instability through a personal lens.
