This documentary follows the career of Will Vinton, a pioneer who transformed the animation industry through the development of claymation during the 1980s and 1990s. Through interviews with Vinton and those who worked closely with him, the film examines the growth and eventual collapse of Will Vinton Studios, a company that earned both Emmy and Academy Awards.

Directed by Marq Evans, this was the first film in a chronological sequence of his directed works, followed by Capturing Bigfoot in 2026. The production involved several companies, including XYZ Films, Oscilloscope, Starburns Industries, and The McCall Company. Tamir Ardon, Marq Evans, and Kevin Moyer served as producers. The film features Will Vinton via archive footage, alongside appearances by industry figures such as Bill Plympton, Peter Lord, Craig Bartlett, Jerry Beck, and Hal Hickel. The movie was released in the United States on August 5, 2022, with a total runtime of 96 minutes.
