Blink Twice

Blink Twice is a 2024 American thriller with elements of comedy, crime, drama, horror and mystery. Frida, a cocktail waitress in Los Angeles, meets the technology billionaire Slater King at a fundraising gala. He invites her and her colleague Jess to join him and his friends for a holiday on his private island. The setting is luxurious, with endless parties, champagne and sunshine, but as the days pass Frida begins to sense that something is wrong beneath the surface of this apparent paradise.

The film marks Zoë Kravitz's debut as a director, and she also co-wrote the screenplay with E.T. Feigenbaum and served as a producer alongside Bruce Cohen and Garret Levitz. Naomi Ackie plays Frida and Channing Tatum plays Slater, with Alia Shawkat as Jess, Christian Slater as Vic, Simon Rex as Cody and Adria Arjona as Sarah among a credited cast of thirty-two.

Made for a budget of twenty million dollars, the film took about forty-six million dollars worldwide, a solid return for a directorial first feature. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.5 from roughly 128,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.7 from around two thousand votes. A critics' score of 6.8 from 233 reviews places it slightly above the audience ratings.
