Short description

Prime Minister of Great Britain Benjamin Disraeli outwits the subterfuge of the Russians and chicanery at home in order to secure the purchase of the Suez Canal.

What's left behind the scenes

  • An adaptation of the play of the same name by Lewis N. Parker.
  • George Arliss had previously played Benjamin Disraeli in the silent film of the same name in 1921.
  • The film's original runtime was 90 minutes. Upon the film's re-release in 1934, a 3-minute fragment was cut; today, only the 87-minute version survives.
