Meet Cute

When Sheila and Gary meet in a bar, the date goes so well that it seems like destiny. It isn't. Sheila has access to a time machine, and she keeps returning to that same evening, making small adjustments each time in an attempt to turn Gary into the ideal partner, with consequences she does not fully control. The film is a romantic comedy that uses science fiction to pull the genre apart, asking what someone might do if they could travel into a loved one's past to heal their wounds and solve their problems.

Alexandre Lehmann directed from a screenplay by Noga Pnueli, with Akiva Goldsman, Gregory Lessans and Dan Reardon producing. It followed Lehmann's earlier features Blue Jay and Paddleton and preceded Acidman. Kaley Cuoco and Pete Davidson lead the cast as Sheila and Gary, alongside Deborah S. Craig, Sierra Fisk, Wesley Holloway and Rock Kohli. The film runs 90 minutes and was released on 21 September 2022.

Reception was mixed. On IMDb it holds 5.7 out of 10 from around 15,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.9 out of 10 from 328 votes. A critics' rating of 6.1 out of 10 from 33 reviews places it slightly above both audience scores, indicating a modest response from reviewers and viewers alike rather than broad enthusiasm.
