The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry

Harold Fry is an ordinary man in his sixties who feels he has failed in his roles as a father, husband, and friend. Upon learning that an old friend named Queenie is terminally ill, he sets out to mail her a letter. Instead of returning home, he impulsively decides to walk the entire distance to her hospice, a journey of several hundred miles across England. He believes that his trek will keep Queenie alive, and as he travels, he encounters various people and faces personal struggles that bring him unexpected attention and internal growth.

Directed by Hettie Macdonald, this drama is the second feature in her directing career following Beautiful Thing.
