Fire Island

Fire Island is a romantic comedy about Noah and Howie, two best friends who head to the Fire Island Pines, a long-established queer vacation spot off the south shore of Long Island, for a week of summer fun. They are joined by a close-knit group of friends, and the trip brings romantic entanglements, tension and hard partying that test the bonds between them. The film draws on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, with Joel Kim Booster writing the screenplay and playing Noah, and Bowen Yang playing Howie.

Andrew Ahn directs, following his 2020 feature Driveways and preceding The Wedding Banquet in 2025. The cast also includes Margaret Cho as Erin, Conrad Ricamora as Will, James Scully as Charlie and Matt Rogers as Luke, among a credited cast of 28 and a crew of 60. The film was produced by Searchlight Pictures and Jax Media with a budget of about 10 million US dollars.

Reception was positive. Critics gave it a rating of 7.4 out of 10 from 113 reviews, suggesting stronger approval from reviewers than from general audiences, who rated it 6.7 out of 10 on IMDb from around 16,000 votes and 6.9 out of 10 on TMDB from roughly 300 votes. It runs 105 minutes.
