What's left behind the scenes

The film is based on the «Doom» series of computer games (1993 – present, id Software).
Todd Hollenshead, CEO of id Software, was involved in the film's creation from the beginning of production. He reviewed and approved the scripts.
The tattoo on The Rock's back, "SEMPER FI," is a standard abbreviation used by Marines for the Latin phrase that is the motto of the U.S. Marine Corps – Semper fidelis (Always faithful).
A cacodemon was planned to appear in the film, but it was cut from the final version.
The first-person scene features a remix of the classic Doom musical theme.
The names of the scientists, Dr. Carmack and Dr. Willits, are references to id Software developers John Carmack and Tim Willits.
The film uses the door opening sound from the game Doom 3.
The video in the credits uses many textures and lighting effects from Doom 3: boxes with an 'X' on the sides, barrels, a car with a glowing cylinder.
After the marines return to Earth before the climax, when the Demon is speaking in the room with the Ark, a drawn arrow pointing to the right with the caption “To Delta Labs” can be seen on the wall behind him; this is likely a reference to the Delta Labs from Doom 3.
In the original description of the game “Doom,” the abbreviation for the weapon fired by Dwayne Johnson’s character in the finale is deciphered as “Big Fucking Gun.”
The director's cut of the film has a runtime of 113 minutes.
