What's left behind the scenes

The film is based on the «Doom» series of computer games (1993 – present, id Software).
Todd Hollenshead, CEO of id Software, was involved in the film's creation from the beginning of production. He reviewed and approved the scripts.
The tattoo on The Rock's back, "SEMPER FI," is a standard abbreviation used by Marines for the Latin phrase that is the motto of the U.S. Marine Corps – Semper fidelis (Always faithful).
A cacodemon was planned to appear in the film, but it was cut from the final version.
The first-person scene features a remix of the classic Doom musical theme.
The names of the scientists, Dr. Carmack and Dr. Willits, are references to id Software developers John Carmack and Tim Willits.
The film uses the door opening sound from the game Doom 3.
