Maydegol

Maydegol follows an Afghan teenager living as an immigrant in Iran who dreams of becoming a professional Muay Thai boxer. To pursue this goal, she secretly works to pay for her training while facing challenges outside the ring, including social injustice, xenophobia, and violence from her father. Through the sport, she seeks a way to overcome the difficulties of her conservative environment and personal life.

The film was directed and written by Sarvnaz Alambeigi, who also served as a producer alongside Katayoon Shahabi. A co-production between Germany, Iran, and France, the project was produced by Noori Pictures and Rabison Art. Released on February 15, 2024, the movie has a runtime of 74 minutes and is categorized across several genres, including drama, documentary, comedy, romance, and mystery.
