Once Upon a Time in the Middle East

A chef named Xu Fu moves to the Middle East to work in a Chinese restaurant to settle debts his family owes. Along with a manager named Ma Junsheng, he helps the Dragon Restaurant become a popular destination known for its authentic cuisine. However, the success of the business is interrupted by the outbreak of war, forcing the characters to navigate a violent and changing environment.

This Chinese production was directed by Wen Muye, who also directed Dying to Survive in 2018 and My People, My Country in 2019. The screenplay was co-written by Wen Muye, Lang Qunli, and Wei Zhong. The film stars Shen Teng and Jiang Qiming, with supporting roles played by Omar Sherif, Aarif Rahman, Sherif Sabry, and Ahmed Salim.
