Skunk

Skunk is a drama about Liam, a teenager who grew up in a dysfunctional home defined by violence, alcohol, and abuse. After being removed from his parents by social services, he is placed in a closed facility for traumatized youth. While he finds a potential mentor in a supervisor named Pauline and seeks comfort among other residents and animals, the trauma of his childhood and new hardships within the institution continue to affect him. This struggle leads him toward aggressive behavior as he attempts to break away from his past.

The film was directed and written by Koen Mortier, who previously directed Ex Drummer. It stars Thibaud Dooms as Liam and Natali Broods as Pauline, supported by Boris Van Severen, Dirk Roofthooft, Colin H. Van Eeckhout, and Sarah Vandeursen. The production involved 52 crew members and 25 credited cast members and was a collaborative effort between companies in Belgium, the Netherlands, and the Netherlands Antilles.
