Fistful of Vengeance

Fistful of Vengeance follows Kai Jin, a superpowered assassin whose hunt for a killer leads him to Bangkok. What begins as a personal mission of revenge grows into a larger struggle to protect the world from an ancient threat.

The film is directed by Roel Reiné, the nineteenth of the twenty-one features he has directed in chronological order, arriving after Redbad and before Classified. Cameron Litvack, Jessica Chou and Yalun Tu wrote the screenplay, with Yalun Tu also producing. Iko Uwais plays Kai Jin, appearing alongside Lewis Tan as Lu Xin Lee, Lawrence Kao as Tommy Wah, Pearl Thusi as Zama, Francesca Corney as Preeya and JuJu Chan as Zan Hui. Shot as a co-production between the United States and Thailand, the action fantasy thriller runs ninety-seven minutes.

Reaction to the film has been modest. On IMDb, viewers rate it 4.5 out of 10 from around 8,100 votes, while on TMDB it holds 5.6 out of 10 from roughly 341 votes. A critics' score of 5.1 out of 10, drawn from twenty reviews, sits between those two audience figures rather than standing apart from them. The relatively small number of votes on TMDB compared with IMDb suggests a limited reach with viewers outside its main audience.
