Fireworks

Set in Sicily during the summer of 1982, this drama follows the relationship between two teenagers, Gianni and Nino. After a chance encounter on their mopeds, the pair develops a deep friendship that evolves into a romantic connection while they work together producing fireworks. Their bond puts them at odds with their conservative families and a judgmental community, leading to violent opposition. Despite the danger and the social prejudices of the era, the two boys struggle to protect their love and seek personal freedom.

The film was directed by Giuseppe Fiorello, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Josella Porto and Carlo Salsa. The lead roles are played by Samuele Segreto and Gabriele Pizzurro, with a supporting cast that includes Fabrizia Sacchi, Simona Malato, Enrico Roccaforte, and Antonio De Matteo. Produced by companies including RAI Cinema and BIM Distribuzione, the movie earned 1 million USD at the worldwide box office.
