The Out-of-Towners

Henry and Nancy Clark are a long-married couple from a small Ohio town whose routine has worn away much of the spark between them. When Henry lands a job interview in New York City, Nancy comes along, and the trip quickly turns into a string of mishaps: lost luggage, stolen money, and a hotel manager who refuses them a room. The couple's plans for a smooth business visit collapse, and they find themselves navigating the city under far worse conditions than they expected. What begins as a simple journey becomes an ordeal that tests them, though the two also rediscover something they had misplaced along the way.

Sam Weisman directed the film, which followed George of the Jungle in his filmography and came before What's the Worst That Could Happen?. Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn star as Henry and Nancy, with John Cleese, Mark McKinney, Joe Grifasi and Gregory Jbara among the supporting cast. Marc Lawrence wrote the screenplay, and the film is a remake of a 1970 comedy of the same name that starred Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis.

Released in April 1999, the film runs 90 minutes. It had a budget of 75 million USD and took in 29 million USD worldwide, a return well below its cost. On TMDB it holds a rating of 5.8 out of 10 from 267 votes.
