Golda

Golda takes place in Israel in October 1973, during the nineteen days of the Yom Kippur War. After a surprise attack by Egypt and Syria, Prime Minister Golda Meir confronts the possibility that the country could be destroyed. She weighs the desire to limit bloodshed against her responsibility for the nation's survival, makes decisions on which countless lives depend, and deals with a doubtful cabinet and a complicated relationship with US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. The film is a political drama focused on the pressure of leadership during a short, decisive period.

Guy Nattiv directed from a screenplay by Nicholas Martin, who also produced alongside Michael Kuhn and Jane Hooks. The film follows Skin among the director's features and precedes Tatami in his filmography. Helen Mirren plays Golda Meir, with Camille Cottin as Lou Kaddar, Liev Schreiber as Henry Kissinger, Lior Ashkenazi as David Elazar, Rami Heuberger as Moshe Dayan, and Rotem Keinan as Zvi Zamir. It runs 101 minutes and is a British-American production.
