Charlie Arglist is a mob lawyer in Wichita, Kansas, who has had enough of his marriage, his family and his work. On Christmas Eve, he and his associate Vic Cavanaugh take more than two million dollars from a Kansas City crime boss, and Charlie hopes to leave town with Renata Crest, who runs a local strip club. The theft is the easy part; getting away with money that belongs to dangerous people, and working out what his partner intends to do with it, is another matter.
