Project: Shadowchaser

In the near future, an android called Romulus escapes from a military research laboratory and takes command of a group of terrorists. They seize a hospital, mining the building and holding its occupants hostage, among them the daughter of the United States president. The authorities need the architect who designed the hospital to guide them through its layout, but he is serving a sentence in a cryogenic prison. When officials revive the man they believe to be him, they mistakenly thaw a former football player, who keeps quiet about the mix-up and goes along with the rescue operation in exchange for his release. He joins the assault team, though he knows nothing about the building's design. John Eyres directed from a screenplay by Stephen Lister and also produced.

The film is an action, science fiction and thriller picture from Canada and the United States, released in 1992 and running 97 minutes. Martin Kove plays Desilva, Meg Foster appears as Sarah, Frank Zagarino is Romulus, Joss Ackland is Kinderman, Paul Koslo is Trevanian and Ricco Ross is Jackson, with 25 performers credited in all. It was the first feature Eyres directed, preceding Monolith the following year, Irish Jam in 2006 and Catch the Wind in 2026. Audience response has been modest: on IMDb the rating stands at 4.5 out of 10 from 980 votes, and on TMDB it is 4.3 out of 10 from 28 votes, indicating a small and unenthusiastic viewership.
