Club Zero is a 2023 film about a teacher who arrives at an elite international boarding school to lead a course on conscious eating. Miss Novak teaches her pupils that consuming less is healthier and better for the planet, and five of them become especially devoted to her ideas. Their commitment hardens into a secret group, and the school staff and parents are slow to grasp what is happening until the situation turns dangerous.
Jessica Hausner directed and wrote the screenplay with Géraldine Bajard. It is her third feature, following Amour Fou (2014) and Little Joe (2019), and it continues her interest in closed worlds and unorthodox authority figures. Mia Wasikowska plays Miss Novak, with Sidse Babett Knudsen as Miss Dorset and Amir El-Masry as Mr. Dahl. Elsa Zylberstein, Mathieu Demy and Ksenia Devriendt appear among the 22 credited cast members.
The film runs 110 minutes and was produced across Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, Denmark, the United States, Turkey and France, with BBC Film and ARTE France Cinéma among the companies behind it. On IMDb it holds 5.8 out of 10 from about 3,970 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.9 from a much smaller pool of roughly 112 ratings. A critics' score of 6.1 from 68 reviews places it slightly above the audience figures.
