Short description

Queendom is a documentary about Jenna Marvin, a queer artist who performs in the streets of Moscow. Wearing surreal and fantastic costumes, Marvin uses public art and social media to express opposition to prejudice, war, and police brutality. The film explores the intersection of activism and creativity as the artist risks her safety to challenge restrictive laws and societal hatred in an environment where democratic values are under threat.

The film was directed and produced by Agniia Galdanova, marking the first entry in a chronological list of her directorial works, followed by Spotify Presents: Robyn Live from Los Angeles. A co-production between the United Kingdom, United States, and France, the project involved companies such as the Sundance Institute and Doc Society. Jenna Marvin appears as herself throughout the 98-minute runtime.

The movie has received positive feedback from both viewers and professional reviewers. It holds a rating of 7.5/10 on IMDb based on 520 votes. Film critics gave the documentary a higher score of 8.2/10 across 20 reviews.
