The Taming of the Shrewd

A heartbroken scientist returns to her hometown to start her life over, only to find herself at odds with her brother. Because he wants to sell their shared family land, the brother hires an attractive stranger to manipulate her into agreeing to the sale. This plan leads to various complications and unexpected connections as the woman resists the man's charms.

This Polish romantic comedy was directed by Anna Wieczur and represents the first of three films she has directed, followed by Baby Boom, or Egg Nogg 5 and I Believe in Santa 2. The screenplay was written by Hanna Węsierska, Wojciech Saramonowicz, and Weronika Murek. The main cast features Magdalena Lamparska, Mikołaj Roznerski, Piotr Cyrwus, Tomasz Sapryk, Dorota Landowska, and Elżbieta Trzaskoś.

The film received a mixed response from viewers. On IMDb, it holds a rating of 4.7/10 based on 1,500 votes, while on TMDB, it has a slightly higher score of 5.4/10 from 121 votes.
