The Offering

The Offering is a horror film about a young couple, Art and Claire, who travel to Brooklyn to stay with Art's father, Saul, the head of a Hasidic funeral home. Art is struggling financially and hopes to persuade his father to sell the family business, while Claire is pregnant with their first child. Their visit takes a dark turn when a mysterious corpse is brought into the morgue beneath the house, and a malevolent entity connected to it turns its attention toward the unborn baby.

The film was directed by Oliver Park, working from a screenplay by Hank Hoffman. It was released in September 2022 and runs 93 minutes. The cast includes Nick Blood as Art, Emm Wiseman as Claire, Paul Kaye as Heimish, Allan Corduner as Saul, Daniel Ben Zenou as Chayim and Sofia Weldon as Sarah Scheindal.

A film critics' rating of 6.6 out of 10 from 45 reviews stands above the audience scores of 5.3 out of 10 on IMDb, from around 8,800 votes, and 6 out of 10 on TMDB, from more than 400 votes. The production involved a credited crew of 97 and was mounted by Millennium Media and Decal, with shooting drawing on Bulgarian, British and American backing.
