Deserts

Mehdi and Hamid are close friends who work as debt collectors in southern Morocco. Traveling in an old car and staying in low-end hotels, the pair are nearly identical in appearance, wearing the same clothes and shoes. Despite their low pay, they work aggressively to improve their performance figures. Their routine changes when they encounter a threatening man handcuffed to a motorcycle at a remote desert gas station. This meeting leads the two men on an unexpected and mystical journey.

Written and directed by Faouzi Bensaïdi, this drama is the second film in a chronological sequence that includes A Thousand Months and Why Did You Leave the Horse Alone?. The production was a collaboration between Germany, Belgium, Morocco, and France, with a budget of 2 million USD.
