The film follows the Dumar family, where the profession of orchestral conductor is passed from father to son. As François reaches the end of a successful international career, his son Denis continues to win awards for his work in classical music. The family is thrown into turmoil when François believes he has been selected to lead the Scala in Milan, a lifelong ambition. However, the situation shifts when it is revealed that Denis is the one actually chosen for the position, creating a conflict between the two men.

Directed by Bruno Chiche, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Cécilia Rouaud and Yaël Langmann, this Belgian and French production blends comedy, drama, and music. The cast features Pierre Arditi as François Dumar and Yvan Attal as Denis Dumar, alongside Miou-Miou, Pascale Arbillot, and Caroline Anglade. Produced by several companies including Orange Studio and Apollo Films, the movie has a runtime of 96 minutes.
