Just Desserts

Tommie is a struggling man living in the Cologne-Kalk district of Germany who spends his time watching films and collecting exhaust pipes. After stealing a valuable exhaust pipe from a man named Jupp, Tommie is forced to comply with a difficult demand to find a specific brand of rare beer by a strict deadline. His efforts to resolve this conflict are complicated by the expected arrival of Gianna S., a film star he admires.

This comedy was directed by Ralf Huettner and released in 1994. Within Huettner's filmography, it follows the 1988 production The Curse and precedes Lost in Siberia from 2012 and Behringer und die Toten: Feuerteufel from 2024. The screenplay was written by Tom Gerhardt, who also stars in the film playing three different roles: Tommie, Dieter, and Heinz. The supporting cast includes Hilmi Sözer, Uwe Fellensiek, Gruschenka Stevens, Veronica Ferres, and Dolly Buster.
