Last Breath is a survival thriller set in the North Sea, where a team of saturation divers works at depths that leave no room for error. When a violent storm strikes their support vessel, the accident that follows cuts one diver loose from the line connecting him to the surface, leaving him stranded alone on the seabed with only a small emergency supply of breathing gas. Knowing that any rescue attempt means putting the ship and everyone aboard at greater risk, his colleagues on deck must decide whether to gamble against the weather and the clock to bring him back.
The film dramatises the true story of diver Chris Lemons, played by Finn Cole. Woody Harrelson appears as Duncan Allcock and Simu Liu as David Yuasa, the crewmates leading the effort above him, with Cliff Curtis as the captain, Mark Bonnar as the dive supervisor and MyAnna Buring as the first officer.
Alex Parkinson directs; it is the third feature in the directing credits listed for him, after a 2019 documentary of the same title and Living with Leopards. He wrote the screenplay with Mitchell LaFortune and David Brooks, and the production, shot for a budget of around 24 million dollars, is a British and American co-production. Released in February 2025 and running 93 minutes, it took roughly 25 million dollars worldwide, a modest return against its cost. On IMDb it holds 6.6 from about 36,000 votes and on TMDB 6.9 from a few hundred, while a critics' rating of 6.7 from 141 reviews places it close to those audience scores.
