Words of War

Words of War is a drama and thriller that follows the life of Anna Politkovskaya, a human rights activist and journalist. The story traces her progression from a local reporter to a prominent figure who exposed Russian state corruption under Vladimir Putin and reported on the conflict in Chechnya. Despite facing violence, poisoning, and intimidation, she continued her work until she was murdered in her apartment building's elevator by an unidentified client.

Directed by James Strong, this production is the second film in his career, following United. The screenplay was written by Eric Poppen, and the film was produced by Paul Brennan, Miriam Segal, and Kia Jam. The cast is led by Maxine Peake, with supporting roles played by Ciarán Hinds, Jason Isaacs, Naomi Battrick, Harry Lawtey, and Ellie Bamber.
