Last Night of Amore

Franco Amore is an Italian police lieutenant on the eve of his retirement after thirty-five years on the force. A conscientious officer who prides himself on never having fired his weapon, he is called out on his final night to a crime scene where his closest friend and longtime partner, Dino, has been killed during a diamond robbery. It emerges that Franco himself was entangled in the scheme behind the robbery, and he faces choices that put at risk his career, his marriage to Viviana and his own life on the streets of Milan.

Andrea Di Stefano wrote and directed the film, his third feature after Escobar: Paradise Lost (2014) and The Informer (2019). Pierfrancesco Favino leads as Franco, with Francesco Di Leva as Dino and Linda Caridi as Viviana. The supporting cast includes Antonio Gerardi, Katia Mironova and Camilla Semino Favro. Produced by MeMo Films with Indiana Production, Vision Distribution and Adler Entertainment, the film had a budget of about 10 million dollars and has earned roughly 4 million dollars worldwide.

On IMDb it holds a rating of 7.1 out of 10 from around 6,400 votes, and on TMDB it has 7.1 out of 10 from some 555 votes. A critics' score of 6.8 out of 10 from seven reviews places it somewhat below the audience ratings, though both sit in similar territory.
