New Normal

Set in Seoul in 2022, New Normal follows the intersecting lives of six different people over four days. Amidst news reports of serial killers targeting women who live alone, the characters navigate various personal struggles. These include a woman living in fear of these attacks, a student performing volunteer work to improve his grades, a woman using a dating app, a man following directions from a mysterious letter, an unemployed man spying on his neighbor, and a former musician working in a convenience store. The film explores the hidden anxieties and risks present within common urban spaces as their paths cross in unsettling ways.

The film was written and directed by Jung Bum-shik, following his previous work on Casa Amor: Exclusive for Ladies in 2015 and Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum in 2018. Produced by Choi Jin through Unpa Studio, the movie features a cast including Choi Ji-woo, Lee You-mi, Minho, Pyo Ji-hoon, Ha Da-in, and Jeong Dong-won. Viewers have given the film a rating of 6.2/10 on IMDb based on 546 votes, while on TMDB it has a rating of 6.4/10 from 12 votes.
