The Rapture

Lydia is a dedicated midwife struggling with a recent romantic breakup. When her close friend Salomé becomes pregnant, Lydia manages her friend's pregnancy and the subsequent birth. While holding Salomé's newborn, Lydia has a chance encounter with Milos, a man with whom she previously had a brief sexual encounter. Lydia decides to lie to Milos, claiming that the infant is his child. As Milos accepts this supposed fatherhood, Lydia becomes trapped in a deception that threatens her entire life.

This 2023 French drama marks the first film from director and screenwriter Iris Kaltenbäck.
