What's left behind the scenes

  • At the 36th minute of the second episode of the first season, Jung Jin-soo (Yoo Ah-in) and Jin Hee-jung (Lee Re) burn the killer of her mother. When Choi Gyu-seok, one of the creators of the original webtoon, visited the location for the filming of this scene, he was very surprised to find that it was the exact spot he had used as a reference when drawing the comic.
  • The scripts for episodes 4 through 6 of the first season were written before those of the first three.
  • The three executioner demons are not a reference to the Christian Trinity. The authors felt that one would not look threatening enough, two would also be unconvincing, and four would be too many.
  • The first South Korean series to be screened at the Toronto International Film Festival.
  • The original title of the series translates as "Hell".
  • Since Yoo Ah-in, who played the role of Jung Jin-soo, became involved in a drug-related scandal in February 2023, he was replaced by actor Kim Sung-cheol in the second season of the series.
  • All the footage that, according to the series' plot, was filmed by journalists and ordinary people was shot using camcorders and mobile phones.
