What's left behind the scenes
- The impetus for creating the series was an incident involving Nathan Fielder (who starred in the series and served as its director, writer, and producer). Once in Los Angeles, a beggar approached him and cursed Fielder when he refused to give her money. This incident shook him so much that he found the nearest ATM, withdrew $20, and gave it to the woman. Afterward, he asked if the curse had been lifted, and she replied in the affirmative.
