What's left behind the scenes
- At the end of the eleventh episode of the second season (41:22), Veronica attaches a fortune cookie slip to the glass containing the numbers 4 8 15 16 23 42. The exact same sequence of numbers appeared in the series 'Lost' (2004-2010).
- On March 13, 2013, a video was posted calling on fans of the series to actually crowdfund the filming of a movie. The amount required to begin work on the film was raised by the end of the day and continued to grow.
- In the eleventh episode of the first season, a character played by Katie Leclerc, known for the series 'Switched at Birth' (2011), appears. In the same episode, Veronica discovers that her friend Mac was switched at birth.
- Veronica's car in the first two seasons is a Chrysler LeBaron; in the third, she drives a silver Saturn VUE.
- Logan's car in the first two seasons is a yellow Nissan Xterra S; in the third, it is a black Range Rover.
- Amanda Seyfried auditioned for the role of Veronica Mars, but instead played the supporting role of Lilly Kane.
- Jason Dohring originally auditioned for the role of Duncan, and Teddy Dunn for the role of Logan. In the end, Dohring played Logan, and Dunn played Duncan.
- Kristen Bell beat out more than 500 candidates for the role of Veronica Mars.
- The role of Meg was written specifically for Alona Tal. For a long time, she was the second choice for the role of Veronica, but when Kristen Bell was cast, Rob Thomas wrote a role specifically for Alona.
