What's left behind the scenes
- The towering fences were acquired by the producers at a sale of old props from the Jurassic Park franchise.
- Filming for one episode took 8-9 days, as is typical, but the post-production period took 6 weeks (twice the usual amount).
- Some of the filming took place in a national park in the Australian state of Queensland.
- The idea for the series came to Kelly Marcel while she was working in London. Her agent arranged a two-week trip to Los Angeles, where, while staying in a cheap hotel, she was expected to pitch the idea to a television network. It ended with her simply selling the idea itself and returning to London.
- To create dinosaurs that looked realistic on screen and did not resemble their counterparts from the 'Jurassic Park' (1993) franchise, the services of paleontologist Jack Horner were enlisted.
- Some scenes were filmed in one of the nature reserves in the Australian state of Queensland.
