What's left behind the scenes
- The names of all the members of the Applejack family correspond to varieties of apples.
- The names of some cities are examples of wordplay: Phillidelphia, Mainhattan, Big Macintosh, Bartimore, Las Pegas, and others.
- Princess Luna was originally intended to be named Selena (presumably after the Greek goddess of the Moon). The name was changed due to copyright issues, but in the books for the first few episodes, the character is still referred to as Princess Selena.
- Rainbow Dash's cutie mark is based on the symbol of the gods from the movie 'Hercules'.
