What's left behind the scenes

  • Abby Lee Miller (playing herself) was absent from several episodes of the 6th season because she had been arrested for fraud.
  • During the competitions, each dance is performed twice—once for the series and once for the judges' scoring.
  • The project was initially titled "Just Dance," and its duration was intended to be limited to six episodes.
  • The final versions of many episodes were re-edited to make the storylines more dramatic. For example, in the first episode, the dance number "Party, Party, Party" took third place, while the "Rag Dolls" dance by the same performers came in second. However, only the third-place number made it into the series.
