What's left behind the scenes
- The action takes place in a different reality than that of the film series. The only commonalities are the character Freddy and the town of Springwood. The first episode shows how enraged parents killed Freddy, but this story is not a prequel to the movies. Nancy's parents are not found. It also appears that the action takes place in the present day (the late 80s instead of the late 60s to early 70s). The parents set Freddy on fire, rather than the entire boiler room as in the series. In another episode, Freddy terrorizes his former classmates (the class of 1970), which makes Freddy younger.
