• Doris was originally conceived as a character who would only periodically participate in the plot's development; however, Lauren Widman's performance impressed everyone so much that she was added to the main cast in the second season.
• Randy Harrison auditioned for two roles in the series, but he was considered too old for Patrick and not old enough for Dom.
• Romford is a district in East London. Russell Tovey's parents do indeed run a small company there that provides passenger transfers from the airport to the city. Tovey himself attended primary school in Romford.
• Jake Shears (real name Jason Silards), lead singer of the American pop group Scissor Sisters, auditioned for the role of Hume.
