What's left behind the scenes
- The prison cafeteria was filmed in a school cafeteria located near the filming site.
- James Norton grew up in Yorkshire but attended a private school and later studied at Cambridge, which influenced his manner of speaking. During the casting for the role of Tommy Lee Royce, the actor, who was abroad at the time, sent a video recording instead of appearing in person. As Norton later explained, he decided this would help him get the part because producers typically reject actors with his way of speaking on the spot, believing they sound too educated to convincingly play criminals.
