What's left behind the scenes
- The series was filmed in an old hospital in Whitechapel (a historical district of London), however, the series creator, screenwriter, and lead actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge based a significant part of the plot on her own visit to a hospital in Fitzrovia (also a district of London).
- The series is based on two short plays: one about Anthony and Lulu, and the second about Sam and Fred. The plays became so popular that Phoebe Waller-Bridge combined them into a single script.
