What's left behind the scenes
- The development of Vanya's supernatural powers can be traced through her wardrobe and appearance: at the beginning of the series, she wears dark colors and her hair is tied in a bun; as she discovers her supernatural abilities, the colors of her clothing become brighter and her hair looser; by the end of the first season, she is shown entirely in white with her hair completely let down.
- The series is based on the eponymous comic book series (2007) created by Gerard Way, the lead singer of the rock band My Chemical Romance (2001-2013).
- The motto 'UT MALUM PLUVIA' can be read on the mansion's coat of arms, which translates to 'When evil reigns'.
- The motel in episode 8 is the same one shown in the series 'Schitt's Creek' (2015-2020).
- In Season 2, Klaus lives in the mansion where Octavia Spencer's character lived in the series 'Self Made' (2020). This same mansion served as Olivia's home in '12 Monkeys,' and it was also used in 'The Vanished' (Liz Garbus, 2020), 'Hemlock Grove' (2013-2015), 'The Order' (2013-2017), and 'Anne with an E' (2017-2019).
- In four episodes, Heather Sanderson plays three different characters.
- During the filming of shooting scenes, Aidan Gallagher was not allowed to be on set (a stunt double was used instead) due to child labor law requirements.
- The color of Ben's hoodie changes to symbolize the development of Klaus's supernatural powers: he starts with solid black, but subsequently, more and more colors appear in his clothing.
